"Shutdown Windows over RDP/RDC"

If ever you have logged in to a Windows computer over a Remote Desktop Connection using RDP, you know that there is typically no shutdown option.
In order to resolve this, you can run
shutdown -s -t 1
which will tell Windows to shutdown safely (the -s) within a time frame of 1 second (-t 1)

Jim Alchin chimes in not about antivirus this time, but about the benefits that we'll all see using ReadyBoost and SuperFetch in Windows Vista.
I've already noticed the increase on my physical machines, but have yet to find a use for it in virtual machines.
He links to a great ReadyBoost FAQ, and also points to the blog post from Tom Archer involving a ReadyBoost setup walkthrough with screenshots.

I found a great application for Windows XP and Windows 2000 for managing applications in a multi-monitor setup.
The software is called Oscar's Multi Monitor Taskbar and allows you to do things like specify which monitor a window should open in, put a taskbar in the monitors other than the primary monitor, add a clipboard extender to other monitors, and search your clipboard using hotkeys.

Finally Windows Vista has gone RTM, and should be gold soon.
The feature I have been playing around with the most is the RDP/RDC client version 6, in order to support remote computers.
This link has a good overview of multi monitor support available in RDP 6, and how it works, directly from the Microsofties that made it possible.
